This innovative device was conceived by Dr. Xavier Serres, interventional radiologist at the Imaging Diagnostic Service at Vall d&#8217;Hebron University Hospital and principal investigator of the Molecular Medical Imaging group at Vall d&#8217;Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWinco USG is a new technological platform, unique in the world, that allows learning how to perform ultrasound-guided punctures with millimetric precision, in real-time and with infinite possibilities, without the need for an ultrasound machine,\u201d says Dr. Serres.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system behind Winco USG offers great versatility in various healthcare fields. On the one hand, this simulator can support training in a wide range of medical specialties that use minimally invasive ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, such as biopsies, drainages, nerve block anesthesia, tumor treatments guided by ultrasound, amniocentesis, and more.
